Hvor alvorlig er The Huffington Post?
- Huffington Post startede i 2005 som et online magasin i USA og har en offshoot i mange lande. Chefredaktør er Lydia Polgreen, der tidligere har arbejdet for den berømte New York Times. I 2012 modtog Huffington Post endda den eftertragtede Pulitzer-pris for serien med artikler "Beyond the Battlefield" om sårede veteraner.
- Princippet om Huffpost: Enhver kan skrive artikler, et redaktion, derefter kontrollerer artiklene og sætter dem online. Mange kommentarer, rejserepporter, men også klassiske nyhedsartikler lander på Huffington Post-webstedet. Et redaktionelle skaber også redaktionelle nyheder.
- På denne måde offentliggøres ofte politikere, bloggere, freelance journalister, bogforfattere og virksomheder ofte artikler på Huffpost. Huffington Post er ikke længere et klassisk nyhedsmedium. Det samler mange flere forskellige (undertiden kontroversielle) meninger og stimulerer diskussionen. Hvem de provokerende artikler kommer fra er altid inkluderet.
Huffington Post: Derfor tvivler nogle på alvoret
Det er vanskeligt at afgøre, hvornår et nyhedssted er tvivlsomt. Fordi seriøsitet er yderst subjektiv. Her giver vi et indblik i argumenterne for og imod alvoret i Huffpost-artiklerne:
- Huffposten indeholder mange udtalelser, der er provokerende. De indeholder undertiden uklare overskrifter for at komme til hjertet i forfatterens mening. Men tvivlsom? Disse artikler er tydeligt markeret som kommentarer. I selve teksten er der ofte links til redaktionelle nyheder, der ser på emnet fra et objektivt perspektiv.
- Store billeder og overskrifter, der ligner BILD-avisen, opfattes af mange som upålidelige. Dette siger dog intet om alvoret.
- Mange Huffington Post-artikler drejer sig om store følelser, inspirerende og skøre historier. Men det er ikke nyt, fordi andre aviser og platforme allerede har gjort dette - fra Süddeutsche Zeitung og ZEIT, til BILD og Frankfurter Rundschau. Den eneste nye ting er, at titlerne og videoerne er optimeret til smartphones.
